Our history
streettabletennis was created by Basti Heger and Max Teufel in 2018. Y'all know how it is: a great vacation vibe and too much beer at a beach party in Croatia can lead to the most inspiring while crazy things. Luckily, Basti and Max were not too drunk to remember everything after they got back home: Max created the streettabletennis website with so far 40 local street leagues and counting. The site quickly became a huge success among street players. By now, thousands of matches have been arranged via our street leagues and every year in February streettabletennis communities meet for their streettabletennis season finals – the last big battle that ultimately decides who takes home the fiercely contested title of 'best league player of the season'.
Meanwhile, Basti-the-player worked on crushing the competition himself at every outdoor table he could possibly find. Which quickly led to him connecting to street players all around the world as well as to important people in traditional table tennis. Basti also started to organize streettabletennis tournaments - mostly in Cologne. It turned out right away that these tournaments were a huge success within the entire table tennis community. They quickly became trans-regional, even international go-to events for not only the streettabletennis community, but club players as well.
Since 2021 streettabletennis has upped it's tournaments to a whole new level. That yeat streettabletennis organized two major tournaments that merged street and club, Germany and Europe. The German streettabletennis Open 2022, the biggest streettabletennis festival in European history, connected the world of table tennis on an even broader level – celebrating the amazing sport of streettabletennis that has all of the sudden become the next exciting urban trend sport. Basti Heger and Simon Delang who joined the streettabletennis team in 2023 are looking forward to their next inspiring project, the German streettabletennis Open 2023, which will take streettabletennis to the next level - so be excited and stay tuned...
